On Truth

Welcome friends to a new blog, started by Mike Brunt of Co-Opera and I, his helper, Alexandra Bwye. We decided that the first blog for Co-Opera would be on the one thing that is most important in this endeavor that Mike initiated and I contributed to, and that is, the truth.

What is so important about truth? Well let me ask you - when you listen to the news, watch a documentary, read a book or magazine, or even listen to a friend telling you a story. What do you assume from them, trust in the information that is given to you? That it is true. And based on this information, any few of infinite reactions can take place - yes infinite. A friend tells you they were harmed by someone, and you will do what you can to get this person to justice. But, what if this was a lie, and this person was imprisoned, or rejected in their social network, unjustly? A terrible consequence from the absence of truth. What if a government lied to their people in order to gain the reaction they desired in order to fulfill a motive that most likely would not have the support?

This is where the importance of truth comes in. We base our reactions on the information that is given to us, and we can make some terrible decisions unknowingly when the truth is kept from us, or worse yet, when we are deliberately lied to.

Now, based on some of Co Opera's past musical releases, one may find the project to be bold and perhaps filed under a conspiracy theoretical project. Although both Mike and I have released music based on our research into lies and secrets within the political arena as well as the religious spectrum, we seek less to inspire negativity in our listeners than contempt for our findings.

What is so important is that the listener understands that because Mike chooses this project amid his busy worklife, and with the beauty and calm of Hermosa Beach atmosphere tempting him always, it only seems right that he now pursues bringing truth to the world in one more facet so that other people too may work towards bringing one another to the light by acknowledging and shedding the darkness, so that we may all experience the beauty of nature and the calm of a peaceful and cooperative government and not fear the end of natural beauty and the oncoming age of control over the masses.

Mike and I research through credible sources such as Democracy Now! featuring Amy Goodman, as well as 1st-hand sources such as political speeches by the likes of President Obama, Representative Ron Paul, Jeremy Scahill, Presidents Kennedy, Truman, Eisenhower, Karl Rove and Judge Napolitano, to name a few, on topics from Xe, formerly known as Blackwater, to HAARP, man's attempt at altering weather worldwide. Not only are we sharing our findings on politics with you, but also releasing relaxing tracks, in the form of Mike's Coda for Coders, or the upcoming Yoga Track CD that both Mike and I will be contributing to, to balance the harshness of darker truths with the massive beauty of infinite truth.

Let us all stand up for the truth like so many prominent leaders before us - let us stand strong and keep the legacies of Ghandi, Mandela, Mother Teresa, Paramahansa Yogananda, the Kennedy's, Che Guevara, and so many others before us. Let us honor the truth and love that allows the spirit to soar in times of great hardship and suffering, that brings us all to one place in times when we have become separated.

Let us stand together always and allow the truth to shine through, despite how difficult it may seem, because nothing more difficult than living without it.

With love and respect,
Co-Opera
